Inspired by 1930s furniture designer, Warren McArthur – who specialized in pieces with a pipe-style, art deco feel – and a chair an antique dealer had found in Ottawa’s CBC building – complete with its own stories of famous people – John creates this series out of unique materials.

    Whether effusing a modern, rustic, or utilitarian look, each one shares a manmade aesthetic with the manufacturing process easily observable. Customizable upholstery could come from old army tents or any other number of sources, while the plating is equally dynamic (e.g. nickel, chrome, etc.).
